Soccer School – Record 2024 attendance set

Yesterday we set a new 2024 record for soccer school attendance. 217 local children aged between 5-11 years old enjoyed our Saturday Soccer School at Colston Avenue.

Accompanied by 196 parents and siblings, this morning’s footfall was much more than the usual attendance of many non-league first team fixtures.

The Carshalton Athletic soccer school’s popularity has grown steadily since its inception 16 years ago, when on a grey September Saturday Morning our first session saw 13 children turn up at Colston Avenue for the beginning of what has now become a staple Saturday morning activity for so many local parents and children.

In September 2008 we set a new flexible soccer school format – no need to book multiple sessions – “just turn up to play”. Coaching and games are overseen by our own qualified coaches and we even opened our matchday kitchens so that parents and siblings could enjoy breakfast or a freshly ground coffee “pitch-side”.

Our soccer school became the cradle from which thousands of football journeys began.

Some children only attend soccer school for a couple of years then move into one of our Junior teams, others stay with us, preferring to dip in and out of football when it suits them.

In 2022, we began a “girls-only” session at midday, and although many girls still play in our mixed sessions, the “girls-only” session is growing week by week.

Parents love it too – what better way to start the weekend than sitting pitch-side with a freshly ground cappuccino watching your children enjoy sport with their friends.

Despite our popularity there is still room for more children to join-in, especially for our girls only session at midday. Just click here to book
