CAFC Women vs Oxted & District – Preview
Following their 2–0 win at Sutton United Reserves last time out, the Robins return to Colston Avenue this weekend to take on Oxted & District in their final home league game of the season.

Since a 5–4 defeat to local rivals Sutton United Reserves in November, the Robins have been in outstanding form across all competitions, winning eight and drawing one of their last nine matches.
They responded to that setback by winning their final match before Christmas, securing a 2–0 victory away at Croydon FC courtesy of a debut brace from Nadia Sabania.
The Robins began 2026 strongly with a 3–1 home win over Merstham, thanks to goals from Honey Dulley, Dee Badley, and Nadia Sabania. They then continued their Surrey Divisional Cup defence in emphatic fashion, beating South Park Reigate 13–0 in the quarter-finals. It was an impressive display, with nine different players getting on the scoresheet: Sabania (3), Davies (2), McCrea (2), Badley, Dulley, Eade, Gooding, Gueriani, and Underhill.
Although they had no competitive fixture the following weekend, Carshalton faced higher-tier opposition in a friendly against Richmond & Kew and impressed once again, running out 5–1 winners. The goals came from McCrea (2), Badley, Dulley, and Gueriani.
The final game of January saw the Robins host Chessington & Hook at Colston Avenue. Dee Badley scored four goals – including a hat-trick in a devastating 10-minute spell – while Honey Dulley and Nadia Sabania also found the net in a commanding 6–0 victory.
Carshalton then travelled to Walton & Hersham and raced into a 3–0 half-time lead thanks to a brace from Badley and a Dulley strike just before the break. The Robins picked up where they left off in the second half, adding further goals through McCrea, Ward, and Dulley before conceding a late consolation to seal a 6–1 win.
The Robins then hosted Dorking Wanderers U23s in the semi-finals of the Surrey Divisional Cup. Carshalton made a fast start, with Bianca Underhill opening the scoring after three minutes, but Dorking equalised through Maisie Dale. Carshalton went into half-time 2–1 up following Dee Badley’s strike before the break, but Dorking levelled in the second half through Holly Crane. Carshalton went ahead for a third time via a Georgie Edwards free-kick, and Badley made it 4–2 shortly after. Holly Crane pulled one back to set up a nervy finish, but the Robins held on to book their place in the final for the second consecutive season.
Carshalton then made the trip to face Bognor Regis Town in a friendly. The Robins raced into a 2–0 lead thanks to goals from Dee Badley and Taylor McCrea. Carshalton led at the break, but Bognor roared back in the second half, with Millie Carter’s brace setting up a frantic finish. No further goals were scored, and both sides settled for a 2–2 draw.
Last time out, the Robins made the short trip to the David Weir Leisure Centre to take on Sutton United Reserves and ran out 2–0 winners thanks to goals from Leanne Bell and Taylor McCrea.
Sunday sees the Robins return to Colston Avenue to take on Oxted & District – a side who have been a surprise package so far this season and have a good chance of finishing in the top four with just a few games remaining.
The Title Race
Last season, Farnham Town won the Surrey Premier Division title with 15 wins and just one defeat. Carshalton mounted a strong challenge, winning 13, drawing one, and losing two of their 16 matches, but that proved insufficient for either the title or promotion. An average of 2.5 points per game would typically be enough to win a league, yet that may not be the case this season either.
This time, three teams have been in contention all season, but recent results mean the race is now down to two sides as the campaign approaches its decisive stages. A few weeks ago, all eyes were on Dorking’s top-of-the-table clash with Sutton. Dorking took a massive step towards the title, running out 2–1 winners thanks to a 90th-minute goal from Holly Crane. With Dorking also prevailing against Walton & Hersham, the Robins needed to beat Sutton to keep their title hopes alive – and did so, winning 2–0 thanks to goals from Leanne Bell and Taylor McCrea. Those results eliminated Sutton from the race.
Dorking sit top with 48 points from 17 games and a goal difference of +54. Carshalton are second, nine points behind on 39 points with a goal difference of +61, but the Robins have two games in hand. Sutton United Reserves are now out of contention on 38 points from 16 games, though they can still finish second if results go their way.
Dorking have one game remaining – a trip to Sutton United Reserves on 19th April – and will secure the title with a point. However, the title could be decided this weekend if Carshalton fail to pick up three points against Oxted & District at Colston Avenue.
Carshalton still have a chance of winning the league and would do so on goal difference if they win their remaining three games against Oxted & District, Epsom & Ewell, and Chessington & Hook, provided Dorking Wanderers U23s lose to Sutton Reserves in their final league fixture.
Oxted & District
After a close battle with Ash United, Oxted & District were crowned champions of the Surrey Division 1 South last season, going unbeaten throughout the campaign. They won 14 and drew three of their 17 league games to secure promotion to the Surrey Premier Division.
Despite stepping up a level, Oxted have looked comfortable and currently sit fifth out of 10 sides, with a record of six wins, two draws, and six defeats. There have been some entertaining victories, including a 4–0 win at Epsom & Ewell in October, followed by a 6–5 win over Merstham just a week later. Oxted have also beaten Chessington & Hook at home (3–2), as well as Manorcroft United both home (1–0) and away (2–1), and were awarded a walkover for their scheduled home game against Epsom & Ewell.
Arguably their best result of the season came in February against Sutton United Reserves. Sutton arrived with a perfect record of 10 wins from 10 games and would have expected to continue that run. However, despite Ella Simmons being sent off after just five minutes, Oxted took the lead through Kayleigh Stenning early in the first half. They nearly held on for all three points but were denied when former Robin Sarah Chapman equalised on 70 minutes. Despite playing with 10 players for most of the game, Oxted earned an impressive 1–1 draw.
With four games remaining, Oxted will be looking to maximise their points tally. They currently sit behind Croydon FC on head-to-head record but have two games in hand and a strong chance of finishing fourth as “best of the rest” behind Dorking Wanderers U23s, Carshalton Athletic, and Sutton United Reserves.
Head To Head
The sides met for the first time in November at Oxted & District’s Master Park. The Robins faced a tough test but took the lead late in the first half through Dee Badley. Carshalton came out strongly in the second half and doubled their lead through Heather Eade. Substitute Taylor McCrea added a third before Badley and Eade both scored again to secure a 5–0 win.
Team News
Taylor McCrea continued her excellent season by netting her 15th competitive goal against Sutton United Reserves. Her tally is even more impressive given that she has started just two of the 16 games she has played this season. McCrea consistently makes an impact from the bench, and her goal against Sutton was no exception – scoring with her first touch after converting Bianca Underhill’s delivery to make it 2–0.
McCrea will be looking to add to her tally in the final three league games, as well as in the upcoming Surrey Divisional Cup final against Milford & Witley at Meadowbank on 10th May.
Elsewhere, striker Heather Eade is facing surgery after suffering a serious knee injury against South Park in the Surrey Divisional Cup. Eade had been enjoying a stunning season up to that point, recording 16 goals and 12 assists in just 12 games. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the cost of her surgery and rehabilitation.
Pre-Match Analysis
Sunday’s match is a significant one for Carshalton. Anything other than a win would hand the title to Dorking Wanderers U23s. However, the Robins have been in excellent form in 2026, winning eight and drawing one of their matches.
A victory would keep the pressure on Dorking, who face Sutton Reserves next week, and would force them to get a result to secure the title.
The Robins also have the Surrey Divisional Cup final against Milford & Witley on the horizon on 10th May at Meadowbank. Maintaining momentum in the lead-up to that match will be crucial if they are to retain the trophy they won last season.
