Fik-Stay-yo: Atewologun Remains a Rob

Carshalton Athletic are delighted to confirm that defender Fikayo Atewologun will remain at Colston Avenue for the 2025/26 season.

Atewologun joined the Robins last summer from Step 4 side Leatherhead and quickly established himself as a key figure in the heart of the defence. In his debut campaign at this level, he made 41 appearances and was instrumental in securing nine clean sheets when featuring at centre-back.

Manager Peter Adeniyi praised the young defender’s impact:
“Fikayo had a very good first season with us, especially considering it was his first at this level. We expect him to continue improving in the upcoming 2025/26 season. He’s a young player with huge potential and a bright future.”

Atewologun’s performances have impressed both the coaching staff and the Carshalton faithful. Known for his composure on the ball, passing range, physicality, aerial dominance, and tackling ability, he has adapted seamlessly to life in the Isthmian Premier Division. Over the course of the season, he formed effective partnerships with several centre-backs, including Ollie Hamstead, Bernie Tanner, Paris Hamilton-Downes, and Luke Read.

The club looks forward to seeing Atewologun continue his development in red and white next season.
