Carshalton Athletic are thrilled to confirm that Nabeel Ghannam has committed his future to the club for the 2025–26 season, a major coup as the Robins build towards an ambitious new campaign.
The dynamic 22-year-old attacker made a strong impression following his January arrival from fellow Isthmian Premier Division side Lewes FC, making 20 appearances and scoring seven goals in red and white.

Manager Peter Adeniyi was full of praise for Ghannam: “Nabeel is a dynamic and technically gifted forward who brings genuine excitement every time he steps onto the pitch. He is blessed with natural flair and creativity; he thrives in attacking situations, often turning seemingly innocuous moments into scoring opportunities, and we have seen that with some of the outrageous goals he scored last season. His unpredictability makes him a constant threat in the final third. I’m really looking forward to seeing Nabs in action next season.”
Comfortable on either wing and across the attacking midfield positions, Ghannam had already proven his quality with 16 goals in all competitions for Three Bridges, playing a key role in their march to the play-off final against Chichester City. Although Lewes ultimately edged Carshalton to his signature last summer, he went on to make 22 appearances for the Rooks, helping them surge to the top of the Isthmian Premier early on.
Carshalton fans first saw his talent up close in a 0–0 draw at Colston Avenue in September, where Ghannam nearly snatched the win for Lewes, denied only by Mackenzie Foley’s heroics in goal. It was a warning of what was to come.
When Ghannam finally pulled on the Robins shirt, he wasted no time making his mark. He opened his account in style, cutting inside off the left and curling home a stunner in a 2–2 draw with Whitehawk. Then came a thunderous strike in the cup win over Abbey Rangers, after linking up sharply with Nathan Paul-Lavaly. His hot streak continued with a sweetly struck volley from a David Smith delivery, and the most poetic moment of all: scoring against his former side at the Dripping Pan with a deflected strike after dazzling footwork.
He finished the 2024–25 campaign in electrifying style, scoring a late brace against Dartford — first dazzling defenders and leaving the goalkeeper flat-footed with slick footwork on 82 minutes, then sealing the victory deep into stoppage time with a razor-sharp, low-driven finish after a clever heavy touch to outfox his marker (90+6).
Ghannam is a dazzling talent, packed with trickery that leaves defenders baffled in one-on-one battles. Versatile and consistently impactful, he thrives whether starting or coming off the bench, delivering moments of brilliance that can turn games on their head. With a lethal finishing touch and a fearless, direct approach, he’s a nightmare for defenders, masterfully using feints, fake shots, and clever crosses to create danger.
Simply put, Ghannam is an all-around entertainer and a match-winner in the making. Glad to have you on board for 2025-26, Nabeel!
