Casuals’ visit rounds off first team home fixtures

Carshalton Athletic round off their Easter fixtures and play their last home game of the season with the visit of Corinthian Casuals on Monday 18th April (3pm kick off).

For Carshalton, it is a chance to salvage something from what has been a disappointing conclusion to the season. Saturday’s 5-0 loss to newly crowned league champions Worthing was the eighth game without a win, during which time they have taken just three points from a possible 21 in the league and have slipped to 11th position.

Corinthian Casuals were also on the wrong end of a defeat on Saturday, going down 3-0 at home to new Velocity Trophy holders Horsham. They currently sit 14th in the table, with 48 points from 40 games.

The two sides have already met twice at King George V Field earlier in the season, both resulting in Casuals wins. The first came on a chilly New Year’s Day, when goals from Kieran Cadogan and Bobby Mills for Casuals and Luke Read for Carshalton gave the hosts a 2-1 win in the league. The second, in early March in the Surrey Senior Cup, ended with a penalty shootout victory for Casuals over a Carshalton team comprising manager Peter Adeniyi and under 19 and academy players after the scores were level 2-2 at full time.
