Team news

Ola Sogbanmu came in for Omar Koroma after Monday's victory over Whitehawk, while Jacob Mendy was back among the substitutes. Ex-Robins Jordan Clarke, Hakeem Adelakun and Mu Maan were in the visitors' squad.

It was Casuals that started the quicker of the two sides and, on five minutes, Clarke haunted his old club for the second time this season.

Juevan Spencer got behind our defence but Warren Mfula couldn't get on his low pullback. The ball rolled across the area and Clarke, although under pressure, sidefooted home to put Casuals ahead much like he did in the cup fixture earlier this season, albeit this time he was much closer to goal.

Spencer got in again just two minutes later and he tried to pick out Mfula again, but this time Bobby Price got a tackle in and the ball was cleared.

We were sluggish and it took until the quarter hour mark before we created a chance - Tommy Bradford found Michael Onovwigun and the on-loan midfielder played a first-time ball forward for Sogbanmu to go for. Our man did well to take the pass down but, under pressure, he couldn't get a shot off and keeper Danny Bracken smothered the ball.

Our next chance really did work the visiting keeper however - Ricky Korboa, who hadn't scored since the end of August, took aim from 20 yards and forced Bracken into parrying his shot at full stretch.

Korboa and Spencer clashed inside the Casuals area on 21 minutes but the referee waved away our calls for a penalty - but those two would be involved in another similar incident after the break.

A corner delivery on 27 minutes caused panic inside the Casuals' six yard box and, at one point, the ball was heading in until Bracken clawed it away practically off his own line. Then, a minute later, Sogbanmu took down a long ball, cut inside his marker and unleashed a firm rising shot that Bracken plucked out the air.

So, after a slow start, we were finally putting some pressure on the visitors' goal but Casuals won a corner on 32 minutes that Patrick Ohman got nowhere near. Jack Strange headed the ball down into the throng, Ohman pounced only to see the ball squirm out of hands but thankfully Danny Dudley was alert to clear away from the unguarded net.

Korboa was still our most lively player and, on 38 minutes, he did well to charge down a clearance by Spencer and then keep it in on the far side. Our man cut inside and, although he had Sogbanmu and Price racing into the area, he went alone and found the side-netting.

After an earlier clash with Price where he claimed he was caught by our skipper's arm, Mfula was pumped up and felt he didn't get the rub of several more challenges that came his way in a short space of time. This frustration bubbled over on 40 minutes as he clattered into Kalvin Morath-Gibbs and the referee produced a first yellow card of the afternoon.

HALF-TIME: 0 - 1

We looked a different side after the break and started very much on the front foot - Omar Koroma had come on for Onovwigun and Sogbanmu put an early Price cross over from about  10 yards.

But we restored parity on 50 minutes - a goal kick by Ohman was flicked on by Sogbanmu and Korboa raced between two defenders. Bracken came rushing out but our man kept cool, rounded the keeper and tucked the ball away for his fourth goal of the season.

Korboa got in again shortly afterwards but his cross from the byline was half-cleared and our goalscorer headed the ball back into the side-netting.

But, on 56 minutes, Casuals went back in front in a similar fashion - Maan fed Gabriel Odunaike and he took the ball around a sprawling Ohman, but Daniel Pappoe put in a challenge. The referee wasn't going to award a spot-kick but Mfula was on-hand to beat Dudley on the line with a placed shot.

It didn't take long for us to get back level this time though - Spencer dove in on Korboa inside the Casuals box and the referee had no hesitation in awarding a penalty. Up stepped Koroma and he thumped home his fifth goal in four appearances.

Our in-form striker came close again on 68 minutes but he flashed a header just wide on a corner kick, but we couldn't turn our dominance into another goal and Casuals got the eventual winner 15 minutes from time.

A free kick into our box caused a melee during which Dudley cleared off the line from Mfula. We didn't really clear the danger and Maan picked up the ball up on the far side. He cut along the 18 yard line before unleashing a shot that deflected off Odunaike to wrong-foot Ohman and wind up in the back of the net.

Colston Avenue was shell-shocked but could we come back for a third time? We threw on Mendy and Jerson dos Santos for the last 10 minutes, while Casuals picked up two more bookings for time-wasting antics.

We created a good chance in the second minute of stoppage time - Price knocked in a deep cross which dos Santos headed back at the far post. Sogbanmu took it first-time from about six yards but he wasn't quite set and he hit his shot straight up into the air.

And then another great opportunity came a minute later - Morath-Gibbs made a burst forward as we attacked down the left. A low Jordan Cheadle cross was taken down neatly by our defender as he ghosted into the near post, but a combination of Strange and Bracken blocked his left-footed attempt away for a corner. Dudley knocked the delivery back into the mixer but, as Sogbanmu climbed high and headed the ball in off the crossbar from about eight yards, an offside flag rose to curtail any celebrations.
