Team news Daniel Pappoe and Jerry Amoo came in for Michale Kamara and Peter Adeniyi, both of whom dropped to the bench. Bobby Price also returned and was named among the substitutes.

Kick-off Much like the game at Corinthian Casuals last week, the Robins grabbed an early goal in this one as, on six minutes, Christie Pattisson curled a lovely shot beyond Charlie Searle for his first of the season.

Kleton Perntreou saved from Harvey Whyte as the early pace of the game kept up, but the Robins doubled their lead through Amoo’s impudent chip over Searle on 21 minutes.

The home side through they’d pulled one back just three minutes later but the linesman’s flag went up during the build-up and it was disallowed.

The lively Pattisson had to come off on the half-hour with a knock, Tommy Bradford coming on in his place, and Ricky Korboa missed a great chance on the stroke of half-time but he guided Ernold Haxhiu’s unselfish pass wide of the target.

HALF-TIME: 0 – 2

The home side came out more determined in the second-half, and substituted their goalkeeper who didn’t seem injured, but Carshalton weathered the early pressure.

But things took a turn for the Robins with 20 minutes to go as Pappoe was adjudged to have handled a through ball and was shown a straight red card. A reshuffle saw Omar Koroma make way for Price so the defensive shape could remain.

Perntreou was only called into one more save before the end however and Carshalton kept a secons sauccessive clean sheet while moving up to fourth in the league.
