Team news

There were four senior debuts in the line-up tonight – goalkeeper Dario Centenera Perez, midfielder Manaaf Pauw and forwards Joao dos Santos Augusto and Joshua Shonowo - while Darren Thomas was handed only his second start. Paris Hamilton-Downes, Daniel Pappoe and Ola Sogbanmu all came back in, while former Robin Quincy Rowe was captain for the hosts.

Kick-off Carshalton started brightly but Haxhiu shot off target on three minutes, while Town striker Lewis Driver fell awkwardly and was subbed off for Jake Baxter on just 26 minutes.

But the substitute made an instant impact as, just two minutes later, Rowe flicked on a corner kick and the forward got the ball into the net.

Peter Adeniyi came on at the start of the second-half, but Town doubled their lead on 48 minutes as Baxter got John Hippolyte in to finish smartly past Perez.

The Robins found it difficult to seriously test Nick Jupp in the Chertsey goal, but the hosts sealed their passage into the next round in the last 10 minutes.

Baxter got a second of the evening, while fellow sub Glenn Yala compounded a miserable night for the travelling fans by hitting a fourth on 85 minutes.
