Team news

Kalvin Morath-Gibbs, Jacob Mendy and Daniel Pappoe came back into the defence, while Peter Adeniyi replaced Paris Hamilton-Downes in midfield. Jordan Cheadle and Danny Dudley were among the substitutes.

Kick-off

Carshalton started on the front foot and, on six minutes, a poor clearance by visiting keeper Lewis Carey went to Harry Ottaway but the striker's low effort went straight back at the relieved goalie.

Pappoe did well well to block away a shot by Ben Pope from 18 yards shortly afterwards, but it was the home side looking more likely to score as Ottaway was found by Mendy on 12 minutes and his shot was deflected wide of the goal.

The corner delivery was initially cleared away but Carshalton came again with Tommy Bradford and he picked out Adeniyi just outside the Lewes area. The player/manager looked up and hit a sweet shot that Carey punched away, but Ottaway guided the loose ball back wide from about 10 yards.

There was a call for a spot-kick on 18 minutes as Mo Diallo grappled with Ricky Korboa whom was bearing down on goal, but the referee didn't agree and play continued.

Korboa got the better of Diallo on 23 minutes however and managed to pick out Ottaway 18 yards from goal, but he powered a low effort just wide of the near post.

The Rooks finally called Patrick Ohman into action on 28 minutes as he got down to just beat Pope to a low Charles Coppolla cross, but Carshalton kept pressing and Ola Sogbanmu headed a 31st minute corner on the roof of Carey's net.

All that hard work was nearly undone four minutes later however - a Dayshonne Golding cross was only half-cleared by the home defence and Coppolla hit a snapshot that dipped just over Ohman's crossbar from 18 yards.

And both teams almost scored during a crazy 60 seconds near the end of the half - Lewes cut the home side open down the left but thankfully Morath-Gibbs got in the way of Omarr Lawson's shot inside the area. The Robins broke and, eventually, Mendy bore down on goal. He sent Frankie Chappell left and right before seeing a close range effort hit Carey at the near post.

HALF-TIME: 0 - 0

The second-half started quietly but the first goal came on 54 minutes and it the way of the visitors - Pope knocked a free kick down into the mix and Stacey Freeman thumped home a shot from 12 yards.

Carshalton tried to hit back and, just after the hour, Christie Pattisson played a one-two with Bradford before managing to cut back in from the byline but his left-footed shot rolled into the side-net.

Then Adeniyi teed up Korboa just inside the Lewes box but he shot over the bar on 67 minutes.

Sogbanmu picked up a booking as he stopped a forward run by Michael Dome-Benwin and James Hammond struck the 35 yard free kick not too far off target.

But Carshalton brought on Dudley and Omar Koroma with 20 minutes to go and the latter was instrumental in helping draw the Robins level on 77 minutes.

Ottaway flicked on an Ohman goal kick to Koroma and he had the presence of mind to pick out Korboa who drove forward before beating Carey with a strong left-footed shot from about 17 yards.

And Korboa became the club's top goalscorer just two minutes later as he swapped passes with Ottaway on the edge of the Rooks' box to calmly cushion the ball past a statuesque Carey for his eighth of the season.

The final result means Carshalton completed a league double over Lewes for the second consecutive season.
