North London beckons again for Carshalton

Carshalton Athletic travel to meet Haringey Borough at Coles Park on Saturday 23rd October (3pm kick off) in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

After a sizzing second half display in the 4-1 victory over East Thurrock United last Saturday, the Robins will be looking to carry on that form and push up the table when they face rivals sitting one place above them.

Midweek results elsewhere in the division mean that the teams lie 10th and 11th in the table respectively, with Haringey having one more point from two more games played. Carshalton’s opponents are still smarting, however, from a 5-0 thumping at Merstham last week, in which they conceded the five goals in the first 36 minutes of the game.

First team coach, Keith Boanas, said: “We won’t be taking any notice of that scoreline. We know that they’ve made their home ground a bit of fortress in recent times.”

Paris Hamilton-Downes was on the scoresheet when the teams last met in a 2-2 draw at Haringey in January 2020. He also rounded off the scoring in last week’s game with another in a string of recent contenders for Robins’ goal of the season. Lewis White’s dazzling solo effort kept him at the top of Carshalton’s goal scoring charts with four, including three in the last four games.

Likely to feature in the Haringey squad is former Carshalton player, Tyrese Owen.
