Robins close out November at Potters Bar

After a late comeback secured Carshalton Athletic a point against bottom side Leatherhead at Colston Avenue on Saturday, the Robins take the long midweek trip to face Potters Bar Town on Tuesday 30 November (kick off 7.45pm).

Potters Bar went out of the FA Trophy on Saturday, losing 3-1 to Braintree Town of the National League South in the second round. Goalscorer Samson Esan notched his sixth goal of the current campaign in that game to put him second in the Scholars’ goalscoring charts behind Ben Ward-Cochrane.

Away from cup competitions, Potters Bar have been in good recent league form, winning four of their last five games, including most recently a 2-0 home victory over Bowers and Pitsea. Their only league loss since the beginning of October came at league leaders, Worthing.

Over this period they have also had the misfortune of having two games abandoned when

winning. The most recent of those was at Brightlingsea Regent on the same Saturday as the Robins’ game at Hornchurch was cut short – both due to local power cuts.

Partly as a result of these abandonments, the Scholars currently sit in 14th spot in the Isthmian League Premier Division, two points behind Carshalton but with two games in hand.
