We need find that final touch in front of goal says Kurti

Carshalton Athletic entertain East Thurrock United on Saturday 16th October (3pm kick off) at Colston Avenue.

The Robins came away from Wingate & Finchley last week with a 1-1 draw in an entertaining game but felt they should have got more after a late penalty drew the home side level.

Coach Alberto Kurti commented: “The amount of chances we created it should have never come down to the penalty. One of the things we’ve worked on in training is patterns of play to create chances, and we’re doing that. In the training sessions, the boys are putting those top corners. We just need that little bit of composure (in games).”

With 12 goals scored in nine league games, the Robins are among the lowest scorers in the Isthmian League Premier Division this season, although they also have one of the best defensive records. Lewis White’s goal last week took him to the top of the Carshalton scoring charts with three.

Scoring goals has been less of an issue for the Rocks, with Alex Hernandez leading the way with seven so far. Defensively however, a run of four games, which included a come from behind 4-3 victory over Hornchurch, has seen them ship 15 goals. They travel to Carshalton on the back of a 3-0 loss to Potters Bar Town in midweek.
