Our 'Man of the Match': Ricky Korboa

Team news Patrick Ohman was given the gloves for this one, while Bobby Price, Daniel Pappoe, Danny Dudley, Jordan Cheadle, Ola Sogbanmu and Christie Pattisson all returned from injury. Ricky Korboa was named among the substitutes. Ex-Robin Byron Harrison was named on the Barnet bench.

The visitors started on the front foot and remained there for most of the first-half, but thankfully Will Fonguck fired over from 12 yards on four minutes and Barnet top scorer Shaquille Coulthirst put a 10th minute drive into Patrick Ohman.

Carshalton almost hit Barnet on the break on 15 minutes as Luke Read's clearing header began a counter attack - Cheadle eventually swung a cross-field pass towards the unmarked Pattisson but his touch was heavy and allowed defenders to shut him down on the edge of the area.

But the Robins were having to defend for large periods as Barnet turned the screw - Dan Sweeney headed a corner over and Ohman bravely blocked a shot away at his near post on 34 minutes.

And it looked like Carshalton would go into the break at 0-0 until disaster struck on 41 minutes as Ephron Mason-Clark broke in the area and Ohman caught him late as the keeper tried to grasp the ball. Up stepped Coulthirst and he slammed home his tenth of the season from the spot.

It got worse as, on the stroke of half-time, Jack Taylor latched on to a long ball and proceeded to lob the oncoming Ohman. The recovering defenders might've dealt with that effort but no-one had tracked Mason-Clark whom nodded the ball in from close range.

HALF-TIME: 0 - 2

Both sides made changes and the home fans were greeted by the sight of Ricky Korboa for the first time in almost three months, and he proved a real catalyst for the home side.

It fact it was his driving run, including a neat one-two with Peter Adeniyi that saw a cross taken down by Pattisson. He teed up Adeniyi whom was following up, his blocked effort fell to Sogbanmu but Will Huffer got down well to parry the ball away for a corner.

Sogbanmu won the subsequent delivery but Dudley couldn't quite force the ball in at the near post. The loose ball was volleyed back in by Cheadle but it pin-balled off two opponents and went off target.

Then Sogbanmu flicked on a goal kick and Tommy Bradford helped the ball onto Korboa but, after cutting inside Cheye Alexander, his effort was saved by Huffer.

Ohman was back in action on 54 minutes as he got behind a decent shot by Taylor but Carshalton were a more dominate force this half and Cheadle bent a 20 yard free kick narrowly wide of Huffer's far post on the hour.

But the Robins reduced the arrears after Bradford burst through on 68 minutes and eventually forced a corner off Huffer. He took it himself and Sogbanmu rose unchallenged at the back post to powerfully head the ball home.

The home fans were now hopeful of their side keeping up the forward momentum but, just two minutes later, Coulthirst curled a good shot beyond Ohman from 18 yards and the atmosphere dropped again.

Goals were in the air however and, after forcing another corner on 76 minutes, Cheadle's delivery came off Harrison and rolled just beyond the desperate dive of Huffer to ripple the net.

Barnet tried to restore their two-goal cushion but Dudley and Cheadle each performed great tackles on the edge of their own area to deny them.

Carshalton came forward on 86 minutes and Bobby Price pinged the crossbar from 25 yards - it was desperately close but he was to get another opportunity three minutes later.

Korboa strode into the Barnet cross and was barged over by Craig Robson - the referee pointed to the spot, Price held his nerve and beat Huffer to force a replay at the The Hive on 12th February.
