Team news

Patrick Ohman came back in goal, while Bobby Price, Paris Hamilton-Downes, Daniel Pappoe, Jordan Cheadle, Christie Pattisson and Ricky Korboa were all handed starts. Omar Koroma was back and named among the substitutes.

Carshalton started brightly and an early jinking run by Korboa saw him eventually go down in the box, but the referee said the contact made was fair.

Then, on eight minutes, Price got some space on the right and his cross was met by Harry Ottaway. The striker connected full on the volley but, as it bounced up en-route to goal, Valery Pajetat fabulously tipped the ball round the far post.

It was unfortunate for the hard-working forward but he turned provider on 16 minutes as his back heel found Korboa 15 yards from goal. He looked up before bending the ball round Pajetat via a small deflection. It was his first goal since mid-November.

Patrick Ohman was first called into action on 27 minutes - a rare Haringey attack saw Karl Akinwande get in down the right but he had no-one to aim for in the box, so the goalkeeper comfortably took in the low centre.

Then a better chance for the visitors - they won a free kick 25 yards fro goal on the near side, Rakim Richards met the delivery but his header flew way off target.

The Robins went back on the attack and, on 34 minutes, Korboa caused panic down the left again and his low cross found Peter Adeniyi who fell within a melee of players. The ball was between his legs as he sat back to goal from about three yards but he just couldn't shuffle it into the path of the incoming Ottaway.

But Carshalton did extend their lead just two minutes later - Ottaway broke beyond the Borough defence via a Tommy Bradford through ball. He eventually dinked a cross that Korboa met unmarked at the back post and he slid in his sixth of the season.

The visitors still hadn't tested Ohman as the half dwindled away but yet, on 42 minutes, they got themselves a lifeline. A free kick to the back post was met by Mark Kirby whom nodded it down into the mixer. Kalvin Morath-Gibbs blocked an initial effort off the line but Coby Rowe pounced to ram home the loose ball.

HALF-TIME: 2 - 1

Korboa came within a whisker of hitting a hat-trick on 49 minutes but his 18 yard drive flew just wide of the right-hand upright.

But Carshalton were still the team looking more likely and they restored their two-goal cushion in spectacular fashion just before the hour mark.

Ottaway took a pass in with his back to goal, he turned into space and unleashed a rocket from 20 yards which, despite Pajetat getting something on it, nestled inside the top corner. It was his first goal since joining the club last month.

The visitors made a double substitution and a Joel Nouble low cross from the left was only half-cleared on 64 minutes, but Cheadle made a brave block to deny David Olufemi on the follow-up.

Price had a glimpse of goal at the other end on 68 minutes following good work involving Cheadle, Korboa and Pattisson teed him up, but Pajetat pushed the ball away at his near post.

Another dead ball delivery for Borough almost yielded another goal on 76 minutes by sub Reneil Sappleton's header, his first touch after coming on, flew back beyond the far upright.

There was a audible gasp from the crowd on 80 minutes as Olufemi went in late on Korboa midway inside the Borough halfway. The forward went down heavy and seemed in a bad way but, considering he's only just properly returned from a three month lay-off, Korboa did leave the field walking and was replaced by fellow long-term absentee Omar Koroma.

Cheadle stepped up to the free kick and he smashed it millimetres over the crossbar with Pajetat sprawling.

Borough's last real chance of the match fell to Charley Barker on 86 minutes but Ohman got behind it for his first save of the second-half. So the game finished as an exact mirror of the result back in North London last December.
