Robins Set for Testing 2026/27 Pre-Season Programme
Carshalton Athletic’s preparations for the 2026/27 campaign will feature a varied and competitive pre-season schedule, with the Robins set to test themselves against opposition from across the football pyramid.
The fixtures provide an excellent opportunity for supporters to get an early look at the squad, while also giving the management team valuable minutes against a strong mix of EFL, National League, Isthmian League and Combined Counties opposition.
Bromley — Saturday 4th July, 3pm — Home
The Robins begin pre-season with a home fixture against Bromley youngsters – likely to be a mix of U21 and U23 players. Bromley enjoyed a superb 2025/26 campaign. The Ravens finished the season as League Two champions, securing promotion to League One and continuing their impressive rise through the English game. It will be a demanding opening test for Carshalton against a side arriving with real momentum.
Hampton & Richmond Borough — Saturday 11th July, 3pm — Home
Carshalton then welcome Hampton & Richmond Borough to Colston Avenue. The Beavers spent 2025/26 in National League South, competing at Step 2 of the non-league pyramid. A meeting with Hampton & Richmond should offer the Robins a useful examination against an established club from a higher level.
Farnborough — Tuesday 14th July, 7.45pm — Home
Farnborough are next on the schedule, providing another strong National League South challenge. Their 2025/26 season was a difficult one in the lower reaches of the division, but Boro remain a well-known and well-supported club with plenty of experience at Step 2. A midweek home fixture under the lights should be another valuable part of Carshalton’s preparations.
Hanworth Villa — Saturday 18th July, 3pm — Away
The first away trip of pre-season takes the Robins to Hanworth Villa. Villa’s 2025/26 campaign was a memorable one, with the club celebrating promotion after a strong season in the Isthmian League South Central Division. That success makes this an attractive fixture against a side that will be looking to build on a major step forward.
Sheerwater — Tuesday 21st July, 7.45pm — Away
Carshalton then travel to Sheerwater for a Tuesday evening fixture. Sheerwater made good progress during 2025/26, recording a top-ten finish in the Combined Counties Premier Division South and setting a club-record points total. This will be a useful away test for Carshalton development and academy players as well as 1st team players needing minutes
AFC Wimbledon — Saturday 25th July, 3.00pm — Home
One of the headline fixtures of the summer sees AFC Wimbledon U21s visit Colston Avenue. The Dons spent 2025/26 back in League One, finishing 19th and securing their status at that level. With Football League opposition coming to Carshalton, this should be one of the most attractive fixtures of the pre-season programme for supporters.
Dover Athletic — Saturday 1st August, 3.00pm — Away
The Robins complete their listed pre-season schedule with an away trip to Dover Athletic. Dover competed in National League South during 2025/26 and finished in the lower part of the table, but they remain a club with strong non-league pedigree and a demanding home environment. It should provide Carshalton with a tough final workout before the competitive season begins.
With a schedule featuring promoted sides, Step 2 opposition and Football League visitors, Carshalton Athletic’s 2026/27 pre-season promises to be both competitive and exciting. For the Robins, the fixtures will be about sharpness, fitness and preparation — but for supporters, they also offer the first chance to see how the squad is shaping up for the new campaign.
