Robins Retain Young Starlet for 2025–26

Carshalton Athletic are delighted to confirm that exciting young winger Kola Salami has been retained for the upcoming 2025–26 campaign.

Manager Peter Adeniyi spoke highly of the promising wide man:
“Kola showed flashes of his potential last season. He’s powerful, dynamic, and has unbelievable pace that can trouble even the most experienced defenders. He’s still young and learning the game — a raw talent who needs time to develop. Patience is key to unlocking his full potential.”

Salami joined the Robins from Erith Town, where he made an instant impact, scoring five goals in just 16 appearances between August and November. Prior to that, he was the third-top scorer in the SCEFL Division One with FC Elmstead, and has also spent time with Sutton Athletic and the Dartford U19s.

He was handed a starting role in his first five appearances under Adeniyi and went on to make several lively cameos off the bench. His pace and trickery stood out, consistently troubling defenders with his direct running and flair.

To aid his development, Salami was sent on dual registration to Step 5 high-flyers Whyteleafe in late January. There, he gained valuable experience, making five appearances and scoring once in a 3–2 win over Abbey Rangers.

He returned to Colston Avenue to start in the Surrey Senior Cup quarter-final against Kingstonian — a commanding 3–0 win — and played a part in Carshalton’s electric end to the season. He was particularly outstanding in the final-day 4–1 win over Dartford, where he ran riot down the flank, capped with a well-taken goal to close the campaign in style.

Still just at the beginning of his senior career, Kola’s retention adds pace, energy, and raw excitement to the Robins’ attacking options heading into the new season.
