Skipper Secured! Edwards Back for 2025–26

Carshalton Athletic are delighted to confirm the first retention for our Women’s First Team ahead of the 2025–26 season — club captain Georgie Edwards.

Manager Aaron Lamont said:
“Georgie is our captain, a key part of the management team, and someone whose commitment is vital to what we’re building on and off the pitch next season. She’s incredibly versatile, a consistent presence in our starting XI, and I’m absolutely thrilled she’s chosen to stay on this journey with us.”

Edwards added:
“This club means everything to me. It’s where I started, my childhood team, and it truly feels like home. I’m proud to commit to another season — I believe in what we’re building. With the talent coming through, I know we can achieve something special. Promotion, silverware — it’s all there for us, and I can’t wait to give everything for this badge again.”

The midfielder made a huge impact in her first full campaign in red and white, becoming an ever-present figure in Lamont’s squad — whether anchoring the defence, dictating midfield play, or contributing going forward, with over 10 goals to her name.

As a player and assistant manager, Edwards consistently showcased her leadership qualities, commanding presence, and footballing intelligence. Her excellent passing range, set-piece delivery, and eye for goal — especially from distance — made her a reliable and game-changing option throughout the campaign.

With a wave of ambitious talent rising through the Reds ranks, Edwards has played a pivotal role in their development, offering guidance, sharing her experience, and helping younger players navigate the challenges of senior women’s football. Off the pitch, she has also been integral to the club’s media operation, helping to elevate the professionalism of the women’s team to match that of the men’s setup.

From her brace in the historic 5–0 Surrey Premier Division opener against Beecholme Belles, to a thunderous strike against Guernsey FC, and another two-goal performance in the 3–1 Capitol Intermediate Cup win over Croydon FC — Edwards has delivered a series of standout moments in her debut season with the Robins.

Retaining Georgie for 2025–26 is a major boost as we continue building towards our goals.
